This position also requires all incumbents to be willing and able to undertake relief roles in the civil maintenance on call roster and be located within 1 hour of a Hunter Water depot for the purpose of operational call out requirements. What you'll do: Perform general labouring work as required associated with the operations, maintenance and construction of Hunter Water's water, wastewater and stormwater systems. These duties include, but not limited to, water main repairs, sewer main repairs, jetting of sewer mains, maintenance of the Chichester Trunk Gravity Main, traffic control, and water service repairs. Climb and/or enter elevated tanks, reservoirs, wastewater access holes and wastewater pump station wells as and when required. Adhere to all WHS regulations and participate in risk assessments for every task. Undertake activities in such a manner to ensure protection of the environment and compliance with the Corporation's due diligence requirements Operation of the Corporation's motor vehicles, heavy vehicles and other machinery as required. What you'll need to be successful: Essential Criteria: Construction Induction card Current HR Drivers licence OR be willing and able to obtain within 1 month of commencement Proven capacity to work manually for an extended period including activities such as hand digging, lifting etc. Proven ability to work effectively within small teams High level of personal work ethic and commitment to safe working practices The following training is mandatory within the first 6 months of employment with Hunter Water. Candidates do not need to hold this training on application but should list all current tickets and licences that are held in their application.
