We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join a large road network project across the region responsible for planning, design, construction and maintenance of state-controlled infrastructure.
You will provide technical advice to ensure efficient and effective asset management of state-controlled road infrastructure within the Region.
This position is based in the Asset Management team with a strong focus on providing technical expertise to support design, construction, and maintenance processes.
Key responsibilities of this role include: Conduct assessments of road infrastructure and prepare reports on recommended engineering solutions to particular problems.
Develop asset management strategies for transport infrastructure that minimise whole of life costs.
Provide support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure delivery of program outcomes, value for money and best practice are achieved.
Determine the engineering requirements, including materials, critical components, and systems, involved in supporting project management and delivery.
Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements necessary for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects.
Ensure all quality management procedures are adhered to facilitate the delivery of road projects to a high and consistent standard.
Manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with all levels of internal and external stakeholders on all matter relationg to transport infrastructure delivery activities.
In managing projects, you will have the responsibility to plan, assign, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff that would include encouraging teamwork and fostering a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives.
Complete tasks as directed by the Principal Engineer (Asset Management) Mandatory requirements: A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
Current holder of Class C driver's licence.
Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
Provision of own suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Criminal History Screening must be undertaken by the successful candidate.
