We are on the lookout for an experienced Disaster Recovery Funding Claims Officer to liaise with Local Councils and the regional Assessor. Your role will involve assessing claims submitted by Local Governments after declared disasters, performing data analysis, and generating reports. Your new role As a Disaster Recovery Funding Claims Officer, you will be responsible for the following: Exercising professional independent judgement in the claims assessment process of essential public assets affected by declared disasters. Monitoring the financial reporting submissions of Local Governments and using these reports to identify project and program risks early. Negotiating and influencing key decisions with stakeholders regarding legislative responsibilities for claim assessment coordination. What you'll need to succeed A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a strong background in road construction, road maintenance, and project delivery. A comprehensive understanding of sealed and unsealed pavements, bridge works, and repairs. Extensive experience with MS Excel and GIS systems.
