Due to continual success and growth, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Utilities and Infrastructure Estimator to join our client-focused Civil and Infrastructure Team in Adelaide. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record in Utilities and Infrastructure estimating or similar and demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role.
The Senior Utilities and Infrastructure Estimator will be responsible for:
1. Carrying out measuring and delivering estimating services for utilities services.
2. Working with our Civil and Infrastructure Estimating Team.
3. Supporting post contract services where necessary.
4. Commitment to delivering customer service excellence and good commercial results.
We are keen to hear from candidates to join our team who must have the following attributes and skill sets:
1. Specialist utilities services estimating experience predominantly associated with hydraulic services (sewer and water), gas, and electrical/comms services associated with Civil Infrastructure Projects, with at least years’ plus demonstrated experience as a dedicated estimator.
2. Current knowledge of services authority’s standards and codes within South Australia (SA Water, APA, and SAPN).
3. Strong understanding of services utilities and civil construction combining strong estimating/technical skills with practical knowledge.
4. Ability to prepare estimates by first principle estimating with a strong understanding of productivity rates for utilities services in the development of rates.
5. Experience in South Australia is preferred, or similar experience throughout Australia will be considered.
6. Established relationships with clients, designers, specialist contractors, and suppliers are advantageous.
7. Ability to work as part of our Civil Estimating Team and mentor junior estimators in estimating utilities services.
8. Ability to measure and estimate traditional civil works to support the Civil Estimating Team.
9. Ability to communicate well and establish and maintain strong working relationships.
10. Estimating experience in Renewable Energy, Mining, and/or Process Engineering will be of benefit.
11. Preparing estimates for both local and regional locations.
12. Experience with estimating software systems and onscreen take-off software.
The Senior Utilities and Infrastructure Estimator will be responsible for carrying out estimating duties, including but not limited to:
1. Project estimates for all phases of project design.
2. Cost Control – planning, forecasting, and estimation.
3. Value Management Benchmarking Analysis.
4. Post Contract Services, including assessment of progress claims and contract variations.
5. Assisting in the preparation of constructability reports and detailed construction programs.
6. Mentoring and providing guidance to junior estimators.
