Assistant Town Planner
We are on the hunt for a Planning Assistant to join our Southeast Queensland Planning team based in Robina, Gold Coast. You will provide a high level of administration support predominantly with development projects and some general office administration. A key part of this role will be coordinating compliance submissions to local authorities and working with development managers, surveyors, town planners, engineers, architects, Council officers and internal RPS finance colleagues.
Reporting to our Town Planning team, this opportunity is available on a full-time basis from our Robina office with some flexibility to work from home. Ideally, this role would suit a town planning student or recent graduate, or someone from an office manager, real estate, professional services or development background with a desire to gain experience in town planning.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
1. Coordinating internal and external consultants and preparing reports and compliance schedules for submission to Council.
2. Interacting with high level clientele and ensuring timeliness of submissions over multiple projects
3. Communicating with Planning Authorities and responding to requests for information
4. Providing administrative support to the SEQ Planning team and General Manager, ensuring quality and accuracy, whilst ensuring deadlines are met
5. Assisting with the preparation of fee proposals, tenders and similar submissions
6. Supporting the preparation of project and business unit financial reporting
7. Handling a limited number of incoming calls and actioning or responding independently

You will also have:
8. Demonstrated office experience within a corporate environment in an administration/ business support role
9. A level of understanding or experience of the property industry, desirable but not essential
10. Proficiency in formatting detailed reports
11. Advanced skills using Microsoft Office packages including word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
12. A qualification in town planning or similar or working towards, is desirable but not essential.
13. A current Drivers Licence
