About the RoleThe Learning Designer will develop, design, and maintain learning assets for the Melbourne Dental School’s programs, including the Doctor of Dental Surgery, Bachelor of Oral Health, and Doctor of Clinical Dentistry. Collaborating closely with program directors, course coordinators, and academic staff, the role involves creating assessments, curriculum, and supporting the effective delivery of MDS programs. This dynamic position requires excellent self-management, the ability to manage multiple projects, and strong relationship-building with stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
Design, develop, and maintain innovative learning assets and curriculum for dental programs at the Melbourne Dental School.
Collaborate on transformative dental education projects with diverse stakeholders, fostering innovation and excellence in learning design.
Apply appropriate andragogy to the development of learning assets in the MDS programs.
Design, develop or redevelop learning experiences for online and face-to-face delivery to meet specified learning objectives of the learning assets.
Support the development, maintenance and administration of high-quality interactive resources to support learning design.
Maintain a sound knowledge of current University Policy and Procedures, and reliably follow these or provide compliant advice to others.

They will demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement while working independently and as part of a broader team to deliver high-quality educational experiences.
You will also have:
A degree with substantial relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Demonstrated ability in designing learning assets and special experiences in online and face-to-face delivery modes.
Experience in developing support and guide material for staff and students in using new educational systems and new learning materials.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to demonstrate flexibility, initiative and to act with diplomacy and tact.
This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
