1. Afternoon shift position, Monday - Friday
2. Located in Girraween, NSW
The Laboratory Technician (Semi-Volatiles) is responsible for assisting the laboratory function by ensuring all samples are appropriately received, logged, prepared and analysed in a timely manner while assisting with various other laboratory duties, to achieve operational, customer and quality requirements.
Reporting to the Supervisor, the role will focus on:
3. Receiving and logging in samples accurately.
4. Preparing samples for analysis by mixing, blending and weighing, in accordance with sample/analysis requirements and preparation methods.
5. Performing routine analysis, validations and project work in an efficient and effective manner.
6. Ensuring external and internal clients’ requirements are met / exceeded.
7. Ensuring efficient utilisation of laboratory materials.
8. Operating, calibrating and maintaining equipment/instruments as required.
9. Performing quality control tests.
Qualifications
Certificate / Diploma in Laboratory Techniques; or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience.
About You
To be successful for this position, you will demonstrate the following experience and characteristics:
10. Experience in a commercial laboratory will be an advantage.
11. Experience working in a fast paced environment.
12. Knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel.
13. Strong attention to detail.
14. Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
On the job training will be provided, along with the use of our systems and programs. Previous exposure to a warehouse or laboratory environment would hold you in good stead, however our successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and is willing to roll up their sleeves to get things done.
