Category 5 Labour Management and CAT5 Rail is a locally owned and operated labour hire, plant and equipment business, specialising in Rail maintenance works, supplying trades, labour and maintenance personnel across various industries and locations in Australia and New Zealand.
We are currently seeking an Accountant to join our head office team based in Wembley. Reporting to the finance manager, you will be joining a medium sized finance team of accountants, accounts payable, credit and payroll officers. You will also work alongside the Director and owners of the business as they are based in Perth. This is a perfect position for a CA / CPA qualified or working towards CA / CPA candidate. This is a maternity leave placement for a period of 12 months, however for the right individual there may be further opportunities within our growing business.
About the role:
* Daily reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts
* Prepare financial & management reports, including regular P&L variance analysis to budget for each division and location.
* Review final accounts payable files prepared by the AP team, for upload to the bank
* Prepare financial reporting for operations, hour reports, plant utilisation etc.
* Completion of month end balance sheet reconciliations.
* Assist with uploading files for invoice financing through NABIF.
* Assist with completion of the monthly management report.
* Assist with budget preparation and forecasting.
* Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and assist auditors with year-end audit.
* Support Managers and Operations Teams to understand, analyse and improve business results.
* Provide support to the broader finance function including Payroll, Accounts receivable and Accounts payable teams.
* Complete any other financial tasks required, which directly contribute to the key work areas of the Finance Function.

* Relevant tertiary qualifications and technical post graduate qualifications completed or working towards, which include CA/CPA.
* Being a true team player and understand the importance of everyone in the process working together to produce timely and accurate results.
* Ability to maintain accuracy, with exceptional attention to detail.
* Strong communicator and have the personal skills to interact with both finance and non-finance individuals in the broader Category 5 team.
