The Opportunity We're seeking a Lead Asset Engineer (Specialist Transformer Engineer) on a full-time permanent basis, based in Adelaide, South Australia to join our team and provide technical leadership for lifecycle management of substation primary equipment. In this pivotal role, you will guide our team, serve as a subject matter expert, and drive an optimised maintenance strategy. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring that our substations operate at optimal performance and resilience. Additionally, you'll: Provide technical leadership and guidance for the procurement, installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of substation primary equipment. Analyse asset performance data to identify potential failures and implement corrective actions. Lead or participate in investigations into substation primary asset failures, ensuring root cause analysis and appropriate corrective actions are taken. Ensure technical information and requirements are clearly communicated to internal and external stakeholders. Provide interpretation of commissioning test data to ensure safe energisation and operation of substations. Mentor less experienced team members to enhance their technical skills and knowledge. Contribute to the development and implementation of optimized maintenance strategies for substation primary equipment. About You To be successful in this role, you will need: 10+ years' experience in the design, installation/commissioning, operations or maintenance of substation primary assets. Bachelors qualification in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline (essential). Eligible for membership of Engineers Australia (essential). Understanding of asset life cycle management principles. In-depth knowledge of substation primary equipment, performance, and operation. Proven ability to lead technical teams and build relationships. Expert understanding of HV assets & power transformer design, manufacturing and relevant standards. Demonstrated ability in installation, commissioning, and testing. Experience in reliability engineering (statistical analysis).
