Your impact
Our company is currently seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our Water Infrastructure Section. In this role you will be responsible for performing mechanical engineering design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pump stations and treatment plants.
This will include the development of mechanical designs and preparation of engineering drawings, technical reports, and specifications for projects from concept design through to detailed design. You will be expected to provide support and training of our junior engineers that will be assisting you in these tasks.
You will review detailed mechanical calculations, drawing and documents, including interfacing with other disciplines. You will contribute to multidisciplinary teams delivering major water and wastewater treatment projects. You will assist with business development and will develop strong relationships with key Clients.
Our Water Infrastructure Section works on long-term framework agreements with major clients based in Melbourne, including Melbourne Water, Yarra Valley Water and Greater Western Water; and works with important regional clients such as Goulburn Valley Water, Central Highlands Water; and many others. We regularly collaborate with our teams nationally and work with interstate clients, including Sydney Water, Queensland Urban Utilities, Water Corporation WA, and SA Water amongst others.

Our strong pipeline of work means that we require candidates that have the following qualifications, experience, and attributes:
* Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a closely allied discipline.
* Chartered status from relevant engineering body, including Professional Engineer Registration in Victoria
* Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the water and wastewater industry (post-graduation)
* Extensive experience in performing mechanical engineering design from the concept design phase through to detailed design on a variety of water plants and systems, including working on multidisciplinary projects
* Experience in the preparation of tender documentation, tender reviews and recommendations
* Preferably experience in plant commissioning, plant upgrades, operation and maintenance and decommissioning
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.
* Excellent leadership skills, and experience leading engineering teams
* Experience in mentoring and developing junior Mechanical Engineers.
