EL1 Assistant Director, People & Culture, Employee Relations
* Tenure: Full-time ongoing role. Based in Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide
* Salary: $114,247 - $130,300 + super (to increase on 13th of March)
* Team: Hybrid role within a collaborative team
Our client, in the public sector seeks an EL1 Assistant Director People & Culture - Employee Relations for a full-time ongoing role.
About the Role:
As the EL1 Assistant Director of Employee Relations, you'll lead the development of ER/IR policies, Enterprise Bargaining negotiations, and consultation processes. You'll work closely with unions, legal experts, and key stakeholders, ensuring we uphold our commitment to a safe, compliant, and high-performing workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership: Guide the P&C team, role model positive behaviours, and support staff development.
* Negotiations: Lead high-level negotiations, including Enterprise Bargaining, ensuring compliance with the Fair Work Act.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with unions, legal counsel, and government bodies like the Fair Work Commission.
* Policy Development: Shape and maintain ER/IR policies, responding to emerging industrial issues.
* Team Management: Manage a small team, supporting wellbeing, engagement, and performance.
* Reporting & Risk: Monitor and report on workforce risks, emerging trends, and compliance with industrial instruments.
What We're Looking For:
* Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in Employee Relations, HR, Business, Law, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Experience: Proven expertise in Enterprise Bargaining and ER/IR negotiation processes.
* Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
* Leadership: Experience coaching and developing leadership capabilities in ER/IR practices.
* Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate complex ER/IR issues and develop strategic solutions.
* Empathy & Resilience: A respectful and empathetic approach, especially when dealing with diverse teams and challenging situations.
