Avondale University is seeking applications for a full-time School Relationship Liaison Officer to join the Student Recruitment Team on a full-time, 2-year fixed-term contract.

This important role will have you travelling to and providing support Adventist secondary schools by connecting students and staff to potential entry pathways to study at Avondale, with a particular focus on increasing the number of student who choose to study Education at Avondale.
What will you do?
Some of the main duties will include: Develop mutually-beneficial relationships with Adventist school staff, parents and students.
Help develop a school engagement strategy in collaboration with the Director of Advancement and Adventist Schools Australia leadership.
Provide career advice to secondary school students, parents and teachers in so far as the advice relates to entry pathways into study Education at Avondale University.
Build a positive working relationship with career advisors, administrators and chaplains.
Promote Avondale University as a preferred choice of further study to school-leavers and their families.
Help manage on-campus school group visits and events.
Organise visits to Australian Adventist secondary schools.
Run physical or online programs for schools in partnership with career advisors, chaplains and other teachers.
Manage assigned budgets.
Work with other roles in the Advancement team to manage the production of promotional and communication resources necessary for effective school engagement.
Prepare school engagement reports, analyses and presentations for Avondale University and Adventist Schools Australia in a timely manner.
Facilitate Avondale's Seventh-day Adventist mission and ethos though appropriate representation at schools in Australia.
About you To be successful in the School Relationship Liaison Officer role, you will be excited to bring new students into Avondale, you will have the ability to travel, be organised and have excellent relationship building and sales skills.
Essential criteria Degree qualified in Teaching, Communications, Marketing or other relevant discipline.
An understanding of and a willingness to support the mission, values and ethos of Avondale University, as a Seventh-day Adventist institution.
Demonstrated familiarity with the unique character and purpose of Adventist education, a solid understanding of target audiences (school leaders, career advisors, senior students and their families) and the forums in which they operate, and the ability to positively influence others towards a career in teaching.
An ability to represent Avondale within the Adventist Schools Australia secondary school communities.
Demonstrated ability to project manage and conceptualise events for secondary school age students and their families.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills: written and verbal.
Attention to detail.
Ability to travel.
Ability to work outside regular working hours, as necessary.
Willingness to cooperate with all work health and safety policies and procedures related to the work being undertaken and ensure any actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of others at Avondale or at schools.
Promote a safe work place and identify unsafe practices.
An ability to understand and support equal opportunity principles.
A willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check clearance.
Due to the child-related aspects of the role, applicants must either possess or be able to obtain a Working With Children Check prior to employment.
