A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Conference and Events Manager to join our team, based in Sydney.As the Conference and Events Manager for Austmine, you will lead the delivery of a dynamic program of events across the country, including flagship conferences and smaller industry engagements.We are seeking someone with a strategic mindset to develop and plan an exciting annual events calendar while overseeing the end-to-end execution of both in-person and virtual events across Australia.Austmine is the leading industry association for the Australian Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) sector, representing over 750 corporate members nationally.We pride ourselves on networking and connecting industry leaders, running two major conferences and approximately 60 smaller events per year, including networking sessions, luncheons, workshops, briefings, and webinars.We are looking for an energetic, entrepreneurial individual who thrives on variety, takes a team-based approach, and stays ahead of the latest trends in conference and event management.To succeed in this role, you will have a proven track record in delivering exceptional events, a passion for innovation, and the ability to build long-term collaborative relationships.Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute an engaging annual events calendar, covering major conferences and smaller, high-impact industry events.Lead the full end-to-end delivery of in-person and virtual events, ensuring excellence in logistics, content, and attendee experience.Identify, recruit, and engage top-tier speakers, both national and international, aligning event content with key industry themes and trends.Manage all event-related services, including venue sourcing, technology, audio-visual needs, production, and participant registration.Drive sponsorship design and acquisition, while fostering partnerships that support event success.Stay current with trends and innovations in event production to continuously elevate Austmine's event offerings.Required Skills and Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience in conference and events management, with a proven track record in delivering major conferences and smaller events.Strong experience in non-paying speaker recruitment.Expertise in sponsorship design and acquisition, with the ability to build value for both sponsors and attendees.Demonstrated success in developing content that maximises engagement and attendance.Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders.Strong commercial acumen and experience managing event budgets to maximise success.High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach.Creative thinking with a talent for generating new ideas and transforming them into successful event outcomes.Excellent project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Qualifications: A degree in business, events, or communications is highly regarded.Experience working in an industry association, business network, or professional body is advantageous.At Austmine, our values are member focus, innovation, collaboration, integrity, and leadership.If these resonate with you and you're ready to contribute to a passionate, high-performing team, we invite you to apply.How to apply:Submit your CV and cover letter by 4 November 2024.Please note, we may begin conducting interviews before the job ad closes, so early applications are encouraged.#J-18808-Ljbffr
