The NSW Public Works, Director North Coast Region, is responsible for developing and implementing effective project management functions, including frameworks, governance, control and assurance systems to ensure capital works programs are managed and delivered to meet Government objectives on time, cost and scope. The Director will engage widely with clients across the region and will lead and manage the continuing development of a multi-disciplined team in developing and managing the delivery of a range of infrastructure project types.
About You You are a proactive and results driven professional seeking a challenging position in the area of construction infrastructure, and you will possess extensive experience, knowledge and understanding of infrastructure program and project performance methodologies and frameworks.
You will have extensive experience developing fresh ideas and innovative solutions, and your ability for establishing effective governance within agreed timelines and budget with stakeholders both inter-agency and whole of government, especially as roadblocks arise, will be highly sought after.
Most importantly, your client and stakeholder engagement & negotiation skills will need to be of a very high standard, managing stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and with a variety of viewpoints.
As the Director, you will be the lead on developing and delivering innovative approaches to infrastructure within NSW, working collaboratively with agencies across the NSW Government. Your work will be to coordinate infrastructure that helps to deliver growth to areas across the NSW North Coast Region.
As Director North Coast Region, you will: Manage the strategic and operational activities of a diverse range of infrastructure services across the region to ensure that client needs are met and value for money achieved Ensure the provision of expert asset advice to Government and agencies to enable the delivery of NSW Government services to the community Manage organisational change within the region to achieve continuous improvement of services and products for clients Drive the performance of the management team to ensure the levels of professionalism and high standards of all the region resources while ensuring a safety culture is a front-line aspect in all endeavours Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with clients, stakeholders and executive members to support the provision of the region's services Lead the region to achieve financial performance, business strategies and ensure budgetary Key Performance Indicators are met and full compliance is achieved Develop and maintain a professional service culture to ensure that regional staff are provided with the skills and opportunities to work together to achieve the organisation's and client's objectives Develop private sector relationships in the region capitalising on NSW Government Infrastructure investment To be successful in this role, you will have: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as business management, financial management, marketing, change management, civil engineering, architecture, building or similar, to facilitate commercially aware project services, and/or equivalent experience. Relevant high level experience in managing the planning, procurement and/or delivery of construction infrastructure.
