About The Role:
The Youth Worker will design and develop engagement, wellbeing, and social inclusion responses and program activities that directly enhance the engagement of young people at our school.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Supporting effective learning and teaching programs for young people in middle and senior secondary education phases.
* Promoting and supporting physical health and emotional wellbeing of young people.
* Contributing to FLC's objectives and planning.
* Maintaining a supportive and inclusive school environment.
* Building relationships with the school, staff, students, and families to plan and achieve outcomes.
* Referring young people to relevant external agencies and stakeholders.
* Understanding contemporary youth culture and identifying potential barriers impacting on young people and their families.
* Adapting programs to address barriers to young people engaging in activities.
* Promoting the school's values and principles to ensure inclusion, empowerment, and youth development.
* Commitment to working under four principles of operation: Respect, Safe and Legal, Honesty, and Participation.
About You:
* Understanding and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system in the Edmund Rice tradition.
* Demonstrating high-level communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to diagnose problems, foresee issues, and devise appropriate responses.
* Leading, working in, and collaborating across teams with integrity and humility.
* Enthusiasm for working with disengaged youth.
* Certificate IV qualification in youth or human services, desirable within 12 months of employment.
* Previous experience in youth or human services.
* Blue Card eligibility before commencement as per legislation.
* Proficient computer literacy and ability to learn software systems.
* Local travel requirement; current 'C' driver's license necessary.
