We protect Queensland’s financial interests and deliver better financial outcomes by centralising the management of our clients’ borrowings, cash investments, and foreign exchange.Purpose of RoleTo perform and monitor time sensitive critical financial processes, procedures, and reconciliations, thereby mitigating risks and enabling the finance team to efficiently meet QTC financial reporting and compliance requirements.Responsibilities & AccountabilitiesMonitor and reconcile QTC’s main bank accounts on a daily basis and provide funding information.Perform the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and the timeliness of the payment of suppliers and issuing of customer invoices.Support queries from within the business on the Procure to Pay process.Manage vendor relations, as required, and respond to queries on outstanding invoices.Investigate and resolve (or escalate where necessary) problems associated with processing of invoices and purchase orders in a timely manner.Complete applicable month end processes as requested, including journal entries and reconciliations.Assist in the administration of general financial accounting processes such as novated leases and fixed asset register and depreciation.Participate in testing of system upgrades through the Financial Management System.Identify opportunities and drive business process improvements for areas of responsibility.Ad hoc tasks as requested by the Director, Finance.CompetenciesTechnical CompetenciesExcellent communication skills.Demonstrated strong attention to detail and analytical ability.Able to liaise with and support senior leaders.Analytical and solution focused.Behavioural CompetenciesIntegrity, including upholding strong professional and ethical standards.Acts on personal feedback to understand development opportunities.Speaks up early and often and takes initiative regarding opportunities for improvement.Is friendly and engaging with all peers even, regardless of different interests or backgrounds.Leadership CompetenciesProfessional at all times.Takes personal responsibility for their work and how they achieve.Responds positively to personal feedback to understand development opportunities.Is aware of key risks within the scope of their role and raises risk matters with their leader.QualificationsEssentialRequires a secondary school education.Typically requires vocational or technical education qualification(s) in accounts payable, administration accounting, entry level accounting, or equivalent experience.DesirableCustomer support or customer service experience.ExperienceEssentialLess than 2 years prior relevant experience required.Excellent communication skills.Able to assist and provide solutions to senior leaders within the organisation.DesirableExperience working with Finance 365.Accounts payable experience in a medium to large corporate organisation.Understanding of financial accounting concepts, or desire to learn.
