The Football West Strategic Plan 2023-2026 sets a clear path for the growth of the game, including the commercialisation of the Sam Kerr Football Centre and growth of the Asian Engagement Strategy.With approximately 230,000 participants and over 50,000 registered players, Football West, which is affiliated to Football Federation Australia, fosters an environment that brings the game to life on parks, pitches, and indoor centres around the state.Football West is an equal opportunity employer.About the team and the roleThe Community Participation Team supports players, coaches, and officials in their football journey through participation, education, and learning opportunities. Our goal is to make football accessible to all participants, providing a fun, enjoyable, and safe environment for training and playing.The primary responsibility of the Community Participation Officer (CPO) - Great Southern is to grow and service the game by acting as a liaison between Football West and regional associations, clubs, players, officials, and other stakeholders. The CPO will also support football-related activities in Albany and neighbouring regions. This includes coordinating Football West visits, facilitating coach education, overseeing talent development programs, managing school programs, promoting futsal, and performing any other duties necessary to fulfil the role.What's on offerWork hours can be tailored to accommodate either part-time or full-time schedules, depending on the candidate's preferences and needs.Fixed-term contract for an initial period of 12 months, based in Albany, Western Australia.The role requires working hours beyond the standard 9 to 5 schedule, including weekends. Working hours are flexible, based on the candidate's availability and business needs.Flexible working environment.Additional annual leave days provided to all employees during the Christmas and New Year period.Multiple trips to Perth throughout the year.Access to learning resources and ongoing professional development.The successful candidate will be expected to:Coordinate all coaching, refereeing and player courses, workshops, and other activities for Great Southern region in consultation with other Football West staff.Develop, coordinate and promote Football West programs such as Football West Academy, MiniRoos, Sporting Schools, KickIt and any other programs, across the region.Develop and coordinate a network of coaches to deliver football programs in the Great Southern region.Ensure partnership and sponsorship requirements are met across the region.Represent Football West at relevant industry and partner meetings.Assist local associations and clubs with governance and strategy, including relevant club development initiatives.What You'll BringEligibility to work in Australia.A current Working with Children check.A current Driver’s License.Football Australia ‘C’ Diploma highly desirable.Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to use initiative, work under pressure, and meet strict deadlines.Ability to collate, coordinate, and organise multiple programs of work to meet stakeholder expectations and strict deadlines.Proactive approach to work and willingness to learn new skills.Ability to work on multiple tasks with minimal supervision.Basic knowledge of football and the Football Australia National Curriculum is desirable.Previous experience in a similar sports administration role is highly desirable.To ApplyTake the next step in your career, click the “Quick Apply” button below and submit your resume and a covering letter describing your suitability for the role.Football West is an Equal Opportunity Employer who values and encourages diversity within its workforce.
