These attributes connect to the mission of the Anglican Church and the overarching Christian values that guide the operations and direction at the College.About the roleIncreasing demands to critically analyse, synthesise and reformulate high levels of information on a daily basis, combined with rapid advances in technology requires Education providers to adapt quickly to ensure learning experiences delivered to students are stimulating and engaging.As a result, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Knowledge and Learning Resources Manager who will lead, plan, organise and direct the operations and activities within WestMAC’s Secondary library, and advise and support members of the learning community in matters of information, digital and critical literacy.This position will also be required to teach Secondary Library classes (years 7 to 10) as timetabled.This is a full-time (term time), permanent teaching position, commencing no later than the start of Term 1 of 2025.This position will:Assume responsibility for the provision of Secondary Library Services to the College, and provide support as needed to the Junior School Teacher Librarian.Develop and implement a vision, strategy and scope of works that enables the existing traditional library service to evolve into a contemporary information and learning hub that delivers on the needs of all key stakeholders.Implement a blended and mobile learning environment utilising contemporary teaching and learning technologies and practices.Identify and support Leaders of Learning and teaching teams to integrate digital learning resources into the curriculum across discipline areas.Implement a library management solution capable of storing and delivering digital teaching and learning resources to teachers and students.In consultation with the Director of Curriculum, engage in regular curriculum planning meetings with Leaders of Learning to identify and integrate digital information literacy and a blend of digital and other learning resource needs.Maintain currency with the latest curriculum developments, as they apply to the WestMAC context, and currency with emerging technologies to ensure proposed blended learning strategies take advantage of the latest proven technologies while providing stimulating and engaging learning experiences for students.Encourage a love of literature through positive shared literature experiences and through the integration of literature into the curriculum.Collaborate with the Director of Professional Practice and Learning to develop, plan and implement training to optimise staff expertise in Schoolbox.Provide professional development opportunities for teachers to support them in creating stimulating and engaging learning experiences for their students, utilising a range of digital and traditional learning resources.Maintain an up-to-date and relevant collection of teaching and learning resources and manage the access of this collection through the use of the College Library Management System.Actively contribute to the Outdoor Education Program through annual engagement with and attendance at a camp.The successful candidate will possess:Tertiary qualifications in teaching, librarianship and/or information technologyCurrent registration or eligible for registration in Queensland as a teacherRecognition and understanding of the requirements for student protectionExperience in the use of new technologies to enhance student engagement and learning.Strong organisational skills and a high level of attention to detailEffective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively and as part of a wider teamExperience with the integration of ICT’s into the curriculum across discipline areas, with a particular focus on building the capacity of teachers to engage with blended and mobile learning environments.Proficient in the use of iOS devices – iPads, iPods, iPhones.Past experience with specialised Learning Management System (Schoolbox, Blackboard).Ability to create information literacy-based units of work, utilising contemporary Web 2.0 technologies.Be available and able to engage in Outdoor Education activities i.e. camps.We offer the opportunity to work with a great College community on a beautiful rural 38-hectare campus conducive to improved staff and student wellbeing and life-long learning.
