About the Role
This Clinical Librarian position is offered for a 12 month period (parental leave replacement).
The Clinical Librarian makes an important contribution to the Monash Health Library Service, which enables health service employees to easily access the high-quality information they require to provide outstanding clinical care and world class research. The Clinical Librarian works within a high-performing professional team to deliver library services in an agile and flexible environment where there is a focus on delivering a service that is of the highest quality, innovative, helpful, efficient, flexible and accessible.
You’ll work with a collaborative team to develop a world class digital library service combined with physical branch libraries. You will be rewarded with a friendly and supportive team environment providing rich opportunities for continuous development. Your team will appreciate your contribution to our ability to provide the best possible patient experience every day.
Key result areas for the Clinical Librarian include research support services, literature searching, evidence reports, development of online research guidance in the Research Toolkit and customer service responsibilities online and in-person across the Monash Health network. The Clinical Librarian also assist with the delivery of the library training programme, which involves teaching research skills webinars, hybrid and face-to-face events, and recorded videos.
About You
You love what you do, with a passion for Library Services and evidence-based health care. You have experience in both advanced searching and providing front line information services at physical and virtual service points. You have the ability to support health sciences research while ensuring comprehensive, reliable responses are provided to library clients through a systematic, expert approach to searching.
You have the ability to work at all Library sites, which include Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong Hospital, Casey Hospital, Moorabbin Hospital and Kingston Centre.
What you need:
* A degree in Librarianship, qualifying you for professional membership of ALIA
* Experience in a health sciences environment is highly desirable
* Experience in providing reference services is essential
