Maffra is located two and half hours from Melbourne but within one hours drive of both the sea and mountains. Our enrolments sit at approximately 540 and a majority of our students travel to and from our school by bus from neighbouring towns. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or in circumstances where supervision is required individually or in groups of up to 4 in controlled circumstances and where the responsibility for the students remains clearly with a teacher.Position Outline:The Tier 2 Inclusion Support staff member has a vital role at our college in supporting students, teachers and parents/carersResponsibilities / Duties:Required skills:· Demonstrated high level understanding of student needs, including physical, social, emotional and cognitive.· High level of knowledge of disability and neurodiversity, the impact they may have on the student and possible support strategies.· Discretion and an ability to maintain confidentiality.· Developing and maintaining positive, trusting and professional relationships with students, teachers and parents/carers.· Demonstrated high level of organisational skills.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Disability Inclusion along with the capability to navigate the programs required to apply for applications and seek information required to support the program.Demonstrated knowledge of the Quick Smart program and ability to coordinate and work with students using the program.Ability to work within OH&S guidelines.Supporting students:· Capability to develop a positive rapport with students.· Knowledge of how to support students who are heightened to de-escalate and an ability to use a range of strategies that may assist students.Administration:· Work with the Inclusion Learning Specialist, Inclusion Support Coordinator and the Literacy Specialist to assist with the delivery of the Disability Inclusion Program at Maffra Secondary College.Manage and coordinate the day to day running of the Quick Smart program.Assist with the completion of IEPs, SSG meetings and student observations.Work with individual and groups of Tier 2 students.· Complete administrative tasks as required to co-ordinate support for students in receipt of DI funding - e.g. phone calls, meetings, discussions, emails, awareness of issues documented on Compass, etc. as directed by Inclusion Learning Specialist and Inclusion Team Leader.· Assist teachers with gathering and collating evidence for potential DIP (Disability Inclusion Profile) students.Communication:Provide advice and support to teachers of DI-funded students and Tier 2 students.Ensure staff are supported to implement IEPs with fidelity in the classroom.Liaise with Parents/Carers, staff and the SSS team when required.· Consult with Year Level Teams, Wellbeing, Careers and PCOs as needed regarding student support needs.· Attend Students at Risk meetings when required to provide insight regarding assessments and students who may be discussed.· Communicate with and support DI students' families as needed.· Assist with the organisation of Student Support Group (SSG) meetings for all DIP students including updating IEPs and PBSPs with Year Level Team and teacher input.Attend parent meetings and care team meetings if required.Attend Key Contact meetings with Maffra Secondary College's designated Student Support Services Key Contact when required.Disability Inclusion Profiles - applications and reviews:· Work with Year Level Teams and PCOs to identify students who may qualify for DI funding.· Attend classes to perform student observations as needed for DI applications.· Develop knowledge of Disability Inclusion (DI).Transition:· Attend transition days and get to know students with DI funding and/or who need extra support.· Work with the Grade 6 -
