Ready to lead a dynamic and diverse team that will keep Amazon running? We're seeking a passionate Engineering Leader to join our Sydney team to drive operational excellence while fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
The Maintenance and Engineering Manager is the line manager for a team of up to 5, including Maintenance Supervisors and Technicians (fitters and electricians) based at our new Delivery Station in Chullora, Sydney. This role will maintain the focus on safety by training, developing and coaching their team.
Key job responsibilities:
1. Lead, support and mentor the maintenance team, ensuring site operations are maintained in a safe, standard and efficient manner.
2. Work with the team and the wider network to harness the technical expertise available and build solutions.
3. Support the Sr. Maintenance and Engineering Manager as they work with the Site Safety department & Site Leadership to implement, record and audit safety and statutory compliance programs to provide a safe working environment for all staff.
4. Implement network standards and focus on preventative maintenance to provide a high level of equipment availability to our internal customers.
5. Ensure sufficient technical coverage is available for all the shifts by organising and directing the training program for the team.
6. Manage local and Australia-wide projects as assigned by the Sr. Maintenance and Engineering Manager.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Demonstrated leadership experience, particularly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
2. Experience delivering leadership to a team of direct reports, with an emphasis on growth and development and team member engagement.
3. Experience in liaising and managing relationships between a variety of stakeholders including third-party vendors.
4. Formal trade qualifications in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil).
5. Experience of automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience of working with statutory regulations such as compliance checks and machine safety protocols.
2. Experience of using data analysis tools and PLC-based control systems.
3. Experience with project management or Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma processes.
4. Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
