What You'll Be Doing The Community Mental Health Clinician provides recovery-focused clinical services including assessment, care coordination, intervention, liaison, and review for children and young people presenting with symptoms of mental illness, distress, and/or risk issues.
Selection Criteria Tertiary Qualifications and current registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Psychologist OR Tertiary qualifications for Social Worker, Counsellor, or Welfare Officer with eligibility for membership in the relevant professional association.
Demonstrated experience in the provision of contemporary clinical Child and Adolescent Mental Health practice including conducting mental health assessments and providing evidence-based interventions for children, adolescents, and their families/carers experiencing mental illness.
Demonstrated understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
Understanding of the concept and principles of mental health rehabilitation and recovery and demonstrated experience and skills using a collaborative, strengths-based approach to the care of mental health consumers.
Demonstrated high-level communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with consumers, their families and carers, and other stakeholders, along with high proficiency in computer literacy.
Current unrestricted driver's licence and the ability to maintain it.
Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires, which may involve driving long distances.
Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases This is a Category 'A' position; please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015.
