people in our care to make better decisions'.Located at Castlemaine, Loddon Prison is a 477 bed medium-security facility for sentenced male individuals.Adjacent to Loddon Prison is Middleton, a 236 bed restricted minimum-security facility for sentenced male individuals.The focus of both prisons is rehabilitation via individual case management, employment, education, training and the provision of programs and targeted interventions to address offending behaviour and promote the development of prosocial behaviour.About the Role The Industry Supervisor reports directly to the Industry Manager for all production, quality, and other requirements, while ensuring industry and services are aligned to LEAN methodologies and Industry Management Manual.This multifaceted role encompasses human resource management, coaching and developing staff and prisoners, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements, E.E.O.legislation responsibilities, training requirements, budget & procurement monitoring.An important facet of their role involves liaison with internal staff & external stakeholders and preparation of analytical and informed contributions to develop and deliver programs and processes.Custodial duties involve direction in conducting searches, surveillance, observing and assessing prisoner behaviour, operating a variety of security and industrial equipment, collating information, and preparing reports and management of critical incidents.Prison Industry Supervisors have a significant role to play in ensuring compliance with prison and prison industry procedures, as per Industry Management Manual (IMM) and particularly with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) issues.A prison Industry Supervisor plays an integral role in developing, implementing, reinforcing, and reviewing practice and procedures relating to offender management and security management and implementation of offender management plans.They actively lead working parties and reference groups and provide advice through written reports to senior management.As an Industry Supervisor, some of your duties will include: * Supervising the operational aspects of Loddon / Middleton Industries, to achieve commercial production whilst maintaining professional relationships with suppliers, maintaining control of stock, materials, financial records and providing an industry model of trade training and assessing environment with the prisoners & staff.* Leading and managing staff in Loddon / Middleton Industries to ensure the safety and security of individuals, staff and visitors.This includes appropriate levels of surveillance and interaction within the facility, and monitoring for compliance with security and occupational health and safety procedures (OHS) & Procurement.* Training, supervising and supporting staff in all aspects of prison industry operations including training and assessment, case management, program & service knowledge and involvement, maintenance of this role, you will have: * Demonstrated computer Skills (Familiar with Department suite of software, Oracle, PIMS, JETS, Centurion Microsoft Office Suite).* Relevant industry experience, together
