Permanent Part Time (0.8 EFT / 64 hours) Salary Range: $84k - $94k Superannuation Located at The Alfred Great Staff Benefits, Incl Salary Packaging About us The AMAH Adult Inpatient Unit (IPU) at The Alfred aspires to leadership and innovation in the delivery of acute adult public mental health services in Victoria. The clinical program stream is delivered across two wards, Ground Floor and First Floor, and includes a High Dependency Unit (HDU) and Low Dependency Unit (LDU) on each floor. The overriding principle of inpatient care is the provision of effective care within a minimally restrictive environment, in accordance with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act. The decision to utilise more restrictive interventions should be based on an assessment of the person, their risk factors, mental state and physical condition, rather than service or staffing issues, although it is recognised that in extreme situations these issues may become relevant. About the role As our Associate Nurse Manager, together with the Nurse Manager, you are responsible for managing clinical risk and implementing systems and processes to improve patient outcomes. You will also facilitate timely patient access and flow across the continuum of care. In addition, you will ensure efficient and effective utilisation of resources on the ward / unit, allocate nursing resources and oversee and co-ordinate the allocation of nursing students. You are also required to work rotating shifts and undertake leadership of the night duty period for at least 3 months annually. About you Essential Be currently Registered Nurse Division 1 or 3 and hold registration with AHPRA Have relevant post-graduate diploma or working toward same Have recent acute clinical mental health nursing background in a relevant health service Be familiar with and adhere to relevant professional codes of ethics, the values of Alfred Health, and relevant legislation, particularly the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act (2022) and the Guardianship & Administration Act (1986).
