About the role As a Disability Support Worker, you will make a positive and lasting difference to children and young people through the provision of quality support across community, home and centre-based settings working within the parameters of the Key Assets Practice Framework. Duties include, Supporting children and young people to meet their NDIS goals Assisting participants to engage in activities of their choice in their local community, including transport. Supporting children and young people to build their capacity and independence. Providing accurate documentation including progress notes. About your attributes and experience - If you meet all of the essential criteria below, we would encourage you to apply. Essential: At least 12 months experience supporting vulnerable children and young people of various ages from 0 – 18 years. Full working rights in Australia Flexibility to work variable shifts including days, evenings, weekends and overnights Full (not provisional) Driver’s licence and access to a fully insured car NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, WWC Card and willingness to undergo other statutory checks Desirable : An understanding of trauma informed therapeutic care to assist in deescalating and responding to critical incidents with the young person. Have experience in dealing with children and young people with 'complex needs and behaviours' and the ability to therapeutically manage these behaviour's.
