Your next career opportunityAs a Lecturer in Political Science (Teaching Specialist) you will play a pivotal role in delivering engaging and high-quality teaching within the Politics and International Studies undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
You will coordinate and deliver subjects, contribute to curriculum development, and supervise student research projects at the honours and graduate coursework levels.This role offers an opportunity to collaborate with a passionate academic team, design innovative learning experiences, and engage with students.
Some teaching responsibilities will be delivered intensively and in teams, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.While there is some flexibility in the breakdown of work activity, a Level B Teaching Specialist should expect 70% of their time to be devoted to teaching, with the remainder split between scholarship/research, and leadership and service.Your responsibilities will include: Subject coordination duties including the development of Learning Management System sites and subject guides, preparing and marking assessments, selecting and supervising tutors, and consulting with studentsSubject delivery, including preparing and conducting lectures, tutorials and seminarsCurriculum design and innovation, including cross-disciplinary approachesDevelopment of technology-based teaching, learning and assessment programs and resourcesUndertake supervision of theses at Honours and Masters levelScholarly activity that supports, enables and disseminates individual and collaborative research findings and insights from teaching practice within the discipline and more widely For further information please refer to the attached PD.You may be a great fit if:We are looking for a committed and engaging educator in Political Science with a completed PhD, strong understanding of diverse learning needs and a passion for creating inclusive and dynamic learning environments.
