About the role We are recruiting within our Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Lifestyle Programs. The SIL opportunity is supporting a male client with disability in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster. Our Lifestyle Program provides one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities in their homes or the community, with travel between clients and working short, split shifts required. Responsibilities Provide day to day High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA) for residents, including medication assistance, personal care such as bathing, shaving and toileting, and provide manual handling mobility assistance by lifting, transferring and hoisting clients Community access and transportation assistance Work flexibly on a 24/7 roster. Ability to work sleepover is essential for SIL Shifts primarily fall between Monday to Friday, weekend availability may be required Support client in their day-to-day life by empowering them to find their strengths and build their capacity to live independently Offer opportunities for choice, self-expression, and active involvement across all facets of our daily care services Skills & Experience An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle is required Committed to work flexible work hours across the week, including public holidays Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
