What's the role?
Reporting to a Senior Legal Counsel, you'll join a high-performing legal andpliance team to provide support and advice to Plenti business units on legal andpliance issues across a broad range of matters, from consumer credit and financial regulatory, privacy andplaints, to generalmercial work. In addition to interesting and challenging work, you'll get direct access to the General Counsel, senior management and the Executive Team as well as varied experience from day one.
This role can be undertaken in either our Sydney or Adelaide office.
What will you be responsible for?
• Legal andpliance advice: Provide legal andpliance advice to all of Plenti's business units. Includes responding to ad-hoc requests, drafting policy and procedure documents, preparing responses to borrower, investor and shareholderplaints and disputes, and reviewing promotional and marketing materials.
• Strategic Partnership lead: Be the main legal andpliance support for a key strategic partnership.
New products and features: Provide project and product teams with advice and pragmatic solutions taking into account regulatory requirements.
• Agreements: Reviewing various types ofmercial agreements.
• Training and Education: Providepliance training and education programs for employees to promote awareness and understanding ofpliance issues.
• Regulatorypliance: Monitor changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards and ensure the organization'spliance with them.
• Assist thepliance Officer in maintaining and managing thepliance Program at Plenti.
• Risk Assessment: Assist thepliance Officer in conducting risk assessments and audits to identifypliance risks and rmend appropriate actions.
• Investigations: Lead or assist in internal investigations related topliance matters, including allegations of misconduct or violations.
• Reporting and Documentation: Assist in incident and breach management and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related topliance activities and incidents.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and various business units across the business to ensure a cohesive approach topliance
What will make you successful in this role?
Required
Tertiary qualifications in law and admission to practice in NSW
• 3 - 6 years' PQE
• Knowledge of the consumer credit regulatory framework
• Fast learner with strongmunication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
• An ability to work autonomously as well as engage with others in a team environment
• Capacity to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
• Amercial approach to problem-solving with stakeholder management skills
Desirable but not essential
• Knowledge of financial services law
• Knowledge of AML/CTF law
• Litigation experience
