Senior Forest and Fire Operations Officer - Cultural Operations (Otways District)

Job Summary:
The Senior Forest and Fire Operations Officer - Cultural Operations is a skilled field-based position that will contribute to district-wide field operations delivery and works planning.
The role involves working closely with district and regional teams to assist with works delivery planning for fuel management and forest management programs.
This position will be involved with identifying, assessing, and protecting cultural heritage sites and values for operational activities in State Forest and National Parks.
Main Responsibilities:
* Contribution to workcentre programs, supervision of contractors, site assessments, program delivery standards across locations, progress reporting, and support for field marking
* Delivery of values protection standards across operational works programs
* Worksite supervision of field staff, heavy plant operations, and contractors
* Active contribution to recruitment, development, and support of Aboriginal field staff
* Cultural heritage program contribution, departmental network participation, and engagement of external partner groups
Requirements:
A current manual driver's license, specialist/technical expertise/qualifications, and experience in cultural heritage values and works planning are required
Demonstrated experience and understanding of cultural heritage values and works planning for forest management, road management, fuel management, emergency preparedness, and response
Experience in field-based identification, protection, and management of Aboriginal cultural heritage values in delivery of forest and fire management activities
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $75,361-$82,298 per annum, plus superannuation. Your salary will reflect your skills and experience, rewarding your commitment to our mission.
