Full-time Glazier position available in Ryde, NSW 2112
Australian Glazing Solutions is a leading provider of expert glass and glazing services across Sydney, catering to residential, commercial, and industrial clients. On behalf of the company, we are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Glazier to join our team. This full-time role will involve working on a range of glazing projects, from installations and repairs to maintenance of glass products and structures. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cutting, installing, and sealing glass, as well as handling a variety of glazing materials and techniques.
Position Responsibilities and Tasks:
* Accurately measure and create designs for frameless glass installations, including balustrades, pool fences, and shower screens, aligning with client specifications and industry standards for durability and aesthetic appeal.
* Drive trucks safely to installation sites, unloading mirrors, glass, and equipment with caution, and organizing tools on-site for efficient workflow and minimal disruption.
* Act as the primary contact for clients, scheduling installations, discussing project requirements, and ensuring that clients are fully informed and satisfied with the service.
* Cut glass panels to required dimensions using specialized tools and techniques, ensuring edges are smooth and accurate for seamless installation.
* Securely set glass doors and panels into frames, bolting metal hinges, handles, locks, and other hardware components, ensuring stability and proper alignment.
* Prepare surfaces for mirror installations by cutting and securing mounting strips, mouldings, rubber gaskets, and clips, ensuring that mirrors are securely and aesthetically positioned.
* Conduct thorough inspections of installed glass structures, identifying and resolving any potential safety issues or structural weaknesses, and maintaining a zero-tolerance policy for defects.
* Use and maintain core drills, saws, and other power tools with a focus on safety, performing routine maintenance and adjustments to keep equipment in optimal working condition.
* Apply sealants, caulk, or other finishing materials to prevent leaks and ensure the longevity of the installation, maintaining a clean and polished appearance.
* Dispose of broken glass, packaging, and other materials responsibly, ensuring that the worksite is clean and safe upon completion of each project.
* Maintain an organized inventory of glass, hardware, tools, and installation materials, ensuring that supplies are stocked, and equipment is available for each job.
* Document completed work, including measurements, materials used, and client feedback, providing accurate records for company reference and future client consultations.
Qualifications and Skills:
* At least a Certificate III in Glass and Glazing.
* Proven experience as a Glazier for at least 2 years, with expertise in various glazing techniques.
* Ability to interpret blueprints and design specifications.
* Skilled in handling specialized tools used in glazing and glass installations.
* Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Physical fitness to handle manual work.
Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $75,000 - $90,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
