Food and accommodation are provided.Our staff are known for their friendly, can-do attitudes, and we are looking for an authentic, passionate person who enjoys interacting with people of all ages to help lead our tourism team at Cygnet Bay.Job Description Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Marine Manager to join our team at Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, located on the breathtaking Kimberley Coast. Reporting directly to the Tourism Manager, the Marine Manager will oversee all maritime operations, training, and compliance at our farm.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Management System: Oversee and maintain the safety management system to ensure a safe working environment for all marine operations.Marine Training: Provide training and support to marine staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety standards.Systems Champion: Promote efficiency and effective use of resources as a champion for marine systems.Interdepartmental Conduit: Facilitate communication and collaboration between departments to optimize marine operations.Marine Tourism Department Management: Manage the marine tourism department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality experiences for visitors.Commercial Marine Operations: Oversee commercial marine activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and operational standards.Maintenance: Ensure the proper maintenance of all marine equipment and vessels.Compliance: Manage compliance with AMSA surveys and personnel qualifications, ensuring all operations meet regulatory requirements.Supervisory Responsibility:This position supervises a combination of year-round and seasonal employees and supervisors throughout various departments, as well as liaising with our farm and operational departments.Standard HR responsibilities, including assisting the Tourism Manager in recruiting and performance managing supervisors and staff.Position Type & Expected Work Hours:Salaried-exempt, full-time, year-round.Position includes food & onsite accommodation as part of package.Qualifications:Proven experience in marine management or a related field.AMSA Qualifications Master 24m (Desired), Coxswain NC1 (Minimum), MED 2 (Desired).Strong knowledge of safety management systems and marine regulations.Excellent leadership and communication skills.Working knowledge of the Marine Safety (Domestic Commercial Vessel) National Law Act.Experience in training and development of marine staff.If you have a passion for marine management and a desire to work in a unique and exhilarating environment, we would love to hear from you.How do your skills match this job?Your application will include the following questions:How many years' experience do you have as a Marine Manager?Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?Do you have a current Police Check (National Police Certificate) for employment?What's your expected annual base salary?Do you have a current Australian driver's licence?Do you have experience working in remote areas?Are you willing to relocate for this role?
