MECHANICAL ENGINEER
We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our client’s team in Deeside. Our client is a leading global manufacturer and installer of advanced downhole heater cable technology. This position is ideal for a dynamic engineer ready to contribute to innovative projects in the oil and gas industry.
About The Role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work closely with the Senior Mechanical Engineer on product development, testing, and qualification of our heater cable products. You will play a crucial role in refining manufacturing processes and enhancing product reliability, while actively participating in peer reviews, design assessments, and technical support across departments.
Location: Deeside, North Wales, UK
Salary: £40k
Working Hours: Mon – Fri 8am – 5pm
Key Responsibilities
1. Adhere to the company’s safety guidelines, employee handbook, and work to the company’s quality management system at all times.
2. Work closely with the company’s Sr. Mechanical Engineer to create and improve, new and existing production processes and products to increase reliability and reduce manufacturing costs to the business.
3. Review and work to understand and improve the manufacturing processes and evaluate new technology for use in the Company’s manufacturing facilities, with a focus on sharing knowledge of the UK plant with other global locations.
4. Take ownership of all assigned work scopes and use initiative and problem-solving ability to bring to completion within the constraints set out.
5. Engage in peer review of documents and drawings as required.
6. Participate in design review activities.
7. Provide technical support to other business departments including discussions with clients and suppliers.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant HNC/HND qualification based on experience.
2. Minimum 3 years of mechanical engineering experience in design, testing, and prototype manufacturing.
3. Proficiency in 3D CAD applications and strong command of MS Office.
4. Skilled in creating, interpreting, and assessing technical documents and engineering drawings.
5. Basic knowledge of electrical engineering concepts due to the product’s nature.
6. Experience in manual and CNC machining for prototyping (beneficial).
7. Oil and gas industry knowledge (preferred).
