Step into a pivotal role within our progressive Asset Management team, where you'll take the reins on a variety of capital works and community asset renewal projects, valued at over $15 million annually.
As a Senior Project Officer, you'll be at the forefront of delivering high-quality recreational facilities and overseeing the revitalization of key community spaces.
You will manage the entire project lifecycle, from design to construction, leveraging both internal council resources and external contractors to deliver exceptional outcomes. Your portfolio will include a diverse range of projects spanning parks, playgrounds, sports facilities, swimming centres, libraries, cultural centres, and beach and aquatic facilities.
As the technical lead, you will not only manage projects but also play a crucial mentoring role, guiding and supporting your team to achieve outstanding results.
Your leadership will be vital in meeting our organisational goals and delivering first-class community spaces.
Your other key focus areas include:
* Undertake the management of complex community capital works projects from concept to completion in accordance with Council's project management framework and capital works processes including managing budgets, variations, schedules, cost plans and forecasts for each project.
* Apply continuous improvements by implementing reviewed technical advances and industry trends while identifying, developing, and maintaining procedures and risk assessments, and assisting in developing management systems related to asset and project management.
* Prepare tender documentation, engage and manage consultants and contractors.
* Liaise with stakeholders in the design and delivery of projects including internal departments, service authorities, Government agencies, businesses and the general public.
* Assist in the development of asset management plans, managing databases, setting service levels, and life cycle costing of assets including the asset capitalisation process in line with financial requirements.

Your experience in contract management, combined with your ability to mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing team, sets you apart. You excel at organising, influencing, and negotiating, and you have a talent for engaging stakeholders early in the process, ensuring everyone is aligned and on board throughout the project lifecycle.

* Competitive salary from $111,032 - $129,037 a year plus industry-leading 12 per cent superannuation.
* For qualified engineers, a 3.5% civil liability allowance applies, recognising and rewarding your specialised expertise and contribution to our projects.
