About the Team
The Deloitte Energy and Climate Advisory team is a diverse group with a high level of client interaction across all levels of staff. We work with businesses, governments, regulators and market institutions to help them navigate uncertainty and realise opportunities as the energy and climate landscape is transformed by new policies, technologies, decarbonisation goals and business models. Our team prides itself on assisting clients through analytical rigour and strong industry knowledge. Our team includes engineers, economists, government and regulatory specialists, commercial and business advisers, and modellers who work collaboratively across all components of the energy and climate landscape.
Some examples of how we have helped our clients understand the environment they operate within and identify the actions they could take to achieve better outcomes include:
8. Assessing the potential to underpin the National Hydrogen Strategy
9. Supporting the Western Australian government to model the as the region looks to decarbonise and the transmission and renewable generation that is required
10. Working with the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) to develop, identifying areas of the economy where bioenergy has a key role to play in decarbonisation and modelling the impact of cost on demand
11. Modelling the National Electricity Market and the Wholesale Electricity Market in a to inform of risks and opportunities
12. Authoring Australia’s first Bioenergy Roadmap
13. Supporting the financial and commercial feasibility of some of the globally
14. Assessing the demand for fuel-cell electric vehicles (FCEV) for a global automotive manufacturer to support their Australian FCEV strategy
15. Working with government to support initiatives, strategies and policies to catalyse the adoption of clean energy and development of new industries such as green hydrogen and bioenergy
Among all, energy market modelling and market insights have been key areas of expertise for enabling quantitative analysis and evidence-based advice to our clients in line with their decarbonisation journey. To further enhance our market modelling team capabilities and modelling approaches, we are looking for talented enthusiastic energy market modellers and analysts at different levels to further enhance our modelling teams. While you have a chance to be part of many diverse projects working with diverse clients, you will act as a modelling champion in the team.

We are looking for individuals who want to have an impact on future generations with the following attributes:
16. 2 to 7 years of relevant experience and exposure preferably in renewable energy, energy markets, hydrogen, energy policy and energy transition strategies
17. Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, economics or a related technical field
18. Experience using data management processes and quantitative or mathematical optimisation techniques to develop models for physical systems or processes
19. Familiarity with electricity and/or gas networks and markets (highly valued)
20. Experience in energy market modelling using models such as PLEXOS and/or built bespoke models using optimisation platforms such as GAMS (beneficial)sound analytical skills and understanding of commercial decision-making
21. Experience working collaboratively within teams to develop and deliver innovative solutions to complex problems
22. Experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis to support decision-making and in effectively presenting your insights and findings to a broad spectrum of people
