About the role The Director of Operations is responsible for leading the digital excellence, service delivery, and operations, ensuring excellent customer service. This role is crucial in improving the university's digital platforms, technological infrastructure, and delivering high-quality IT services to support the university's mission and objectives. Key Responsibilities Responsible for digital customer excellence across student-facing platforms. Leading a team of business partners to maintain and improve enterprise platforms. Driving UX/UI improvements across customer platforms. Design and deliver platform improvements focusing on a customer-centric lens. Contribute to the digital strategy and transformation plan. Responsible for oversight of service delivery, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability to meet university needs. Lead the service delivery team to ensure efficient, high-quality IT services and improve customer satisfaction through best practices. Develop and implement strategies for outstanding customer service, resolving issues promptly and effectively. Identify and mitigate IT risks, ensuring regulatory compliance. Establish relevant KPIs to track IT performance, providing regular reports to senior leadership. Contribute to the strategic and operational governance of the IT department as a member of the senior IT leadership team. Qualifications, skills & experience Postgraduate qualifications in information technology, Computer Science, or related field. Hands-on experience with delivering digital platform improvements. Industry qualification and/or extensive relevant experience in either Experience Design, UX, Information Technology, or Business Administration. 10+ years' experience delivering technology services in complex, high-availability technology environments that deliver critical digital services. Proven experience delivering platform improvements. Proven expertise in the management of significant human and material resources. Expert ability in applying service and digital design methodologies such as UX, UI, Service Delivery with a customer experience focus to solve complex business problems aligned to the priority areas as defined by our strategic, operational, and stakeholder needs. Jira Service Management experience or ability to demonstrate experience with similar technology. Proven experience in managing large-scale IT projects and change management initiatives.
