Australian Textile Mills is a producer of advanced textiles for Defence, Emergency services etc. producing technical, decorative and home textiles.
We are currently looking to fill the role of Textile Technical Officer - Printing based in Wangaratta.
The successful applicant will be self-motivated with a professional attitude toward their work to assist in making a positive impact in their work environment.
You will also need to demonstrate:
* Relevant tertiary qualification or work experience
* Proven experience in the printing and finishing of textile fabrics (including technical fabrics) and colour matching
* Technical knowledge and a good understanding of preparation, dyeing and coloration of fabric in both batch and continuous dyeing
* Good colour vision (munsell hue test, minimum of 80% in each section)
* Demonstrated problem solving skills
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for leading and managing Printing strike off and bulk production activities, ensuring the correct colouring applications for shade reproductions across printed fabric lines with an emphasis on 'right first time' methodologies.
Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
* Preparing fabrics for experimentation such as printing strike offs to develop printing recipes and mixing dyes and chemicals to achieve correct shade
* Collating printing recipes, samples and updating database
* Conducting laboratory experiments, tests and analysis, bulk printing of the materials and establishing correlation between strike off printing and bulk printing
* Presenting written results by measuring on the Datacolour Spectrophotometer and visual inspection
* Calculating bulk print recipe and computing the requirements of dyes and chemicals for bulk printing
* Controlling the quality and quantity of dyes and chemical supplies by testing samples and monitoring usage
* Inspecting, calibrating and maintaining Datacolour spectrophotometer, scales and other equipment to ensure that critical standards are met
* Assisting the Engineering team in maintaining printing equipment to ensure critical standards are met
* Preparing strike offs as per the customers' requests and liaising with Sales and Marketing team for customer submissions
This is a full time position working 38 hours per week.
A remuneration package of $80,000 - $90,000 + super will be offered to the successful candidate.
