About the Role:
HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an APS6 Level Fraud Investigator on behalf of our client, located in SURRY HILLS SYDNEY NSW. This role involves investigating fraud cases in a highly regulated environment, ensuring that all processes are aligned with government standards. You will lead and support a team, manage complex investigations, and provide essential operational advice.
* Conduct complex criminal investigations following Australian Government Investigation Standards.
* Prepare and present briefs of evidence to external agencies like the AFP and Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.
* Assist in strategic planning, policy development, and program management for fraud prevention initiatives.
* Provide expert advice and support on complex issues, ensuring investigations are thorough and efficient.
* Conduct interviews, collect evidence, and provide testimony in criminal and civil court.
* Participate in executing search warrants, with potential domestic travel and overnight stays.

About You:
We are looking for an experienced fraud investigator with a focus on accuracy, integrity, and leadership.
* Essential skills:
o Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or equivalent).
o Strong interviewing and statement-taking abilities.
o Expertise in preparing briefs of evidence and investigation plans.
o Excellent risk management skills.
* Desirable skills:
o Background in traditional law enforcement.
o Additional qualifications in investigations.
o Experience working in high-stakes environments.
