Band 6 - Salary Range $95,073 to $103,531 per annum + 11.5% Super + ADO

The Opportunity
Melton City Council is seeking a Traffic and Transport Engineer to join the Engineering and Asset Services team.
Reporting to the Traffic and Transport Coordinator you will investigate traffic issues, deliver outstanding customer service, and meaningful outcomes for the community. You will be primarily responsible for reviewing traffic management plans, investigating customer enquiries, and conducting traffic and transport investigations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Review and liaise with developers in the implementation and approval of traffic management plans to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow on local roads.
2. Review designs and ensure that all projects comply with relevant legislation, standards, and guidelines.
3. Conduct traffic assessments to identify hazards and recommend improvements to enhance road safety for all users.
4. Respond to customer actions requests on traffic related issues.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
1. Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, which would qualify the applicant for membership of the Institute of Engineers of Australia.
2. Relevant experience in Traffic Engineering.
3. Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Road Management Act, Local Government Act, and OH&S Act.
