MACSYS is intended to generate the mathematics and computational technologies required to make biology predictive; establish mathematical whole cell models for in silico biology as a powerful complement to traditional in vivo and in vitro approaches; tackle fundamental biological problems; and establish a world-leading research and biotechnology translation environment.The Administration Officer supports the efficient operation of the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Mathematical Analysis of Cellular Systems (MACSYS) through the provision of high level administrative and operational support.About usQUT is a major Australian university with a global outlook and a 'real world' focus.

The School offers Bachelor degrees in both Mathematics and Data Science, as well as a postgraduate program at Masters (research) and PhD levels.
The Bachelor of Mathematics degree has majors in our three key areas of expertise; Statistics, Operations Research and Applied and Computational Mathematics.What you need to succeedEducation, training and/or experience equivalent to the completion of an associate diploma level qualification combined with at least two years subsequent relevant work experience in an administrative support capacity.Demonstrated digital literacy skills, including Microsoft Office, electronic records management systems and the ability to use large databases and corporate systems to achieve organisational objectives.Demonstrated attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage time.Effective written communication skills to accurately draft routine correspondence and other documents with a high degree of accuracy.High level ability to manage time and tasks effectively including prioritising work, meeting deadlines and balancing competing demands.Demonstrated interpersonal and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to work as part of a team, and to consult and liaise with a wide range of people from culturally diverse backgrounds in a professional manner.Life at QUTWe're committed to building a culture that fosters connection between people and purpose.
