Where you'll be working Ward 8B has a strong focus on multidisciplinary teamwork, with cross referrals between the physicians and surgeons, and daily team meetings. The Ward is supported by enthusiastic nursing staff, a variety of allied health professionals, Clinical Nurse Consultants for Stomal Therapy and Total Parenteral Nutrition, and a Ward Based Clinical Nurse Educator. The senior staff on Ward 8B includes Clinical Nurse Specialists. Staff are provided with a supportive environment and are encouraged to extend their skills.What you'll be doing The Clinical Nurse Educator will be guided by the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Consultant in leading, developing, coordinating, and implementing all structured learning for nurses within NSLHD. They will provide clinical teaching, orientation, skill accreditation, and professional development support for all nursing staff and students. The Clinical Nurse Educator will have a role in the provision of hospital orientation and mandatory training. They will also be expected to teach in courses appropriate to nursing within and at facilities external to NSLHD. The Clinical Nurse Educator will participate in the development and teaching of the NSLHD Nursing Professional Development Program (this includes travelling to other sites within the LHD for lecturing and facilitation of workshops).People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
