Social Worker - Back on Track - North West Region - 978207Australia, TasAbout Tasmania Government About the Tasmanian State ServiceThe Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.This is a Department built entirely for children and young people and their communities, aiming to ensure that every child and young person in Tasmania is known, safe, well, and learning.The child is at the centre of everything we do.Duties The Back on Track program focuses on supporting young people to engage with the requirements of the Education Act, specifically targeting those who have not transitioned from year 10 to years 11 or 12.The program aims to assist young people without an active enrolment by reconnecting them and helping navigate personal barriers to education and learning, facilitating their re-engagement with education or training.The incumbent will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to provide a social work service that supports young people and their families.The Social Worker will contribute to building the capability and capacity of young people to improve student transition, retention, and attendance.Period of Appointment Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.
