Plant Technician

The Whyalla plant technician's role is to ensure the plant is operated and maintained in a safe, reliable and efficient manner in order to achieve the key performance indicators and plant objectives, as agreed with the Production Manager. These objectives are to be delivered in line with the applicable company and regulatory requirements. The Whyalla plant technician is the daily interface with the pipeline customer (Onesteel) and the Linde remote operations centre.
What You Will Enjoy Doing
* You will lead and work safely in accordance with company policies and practices aiming at zero accidents. Ensure the safe system of work is implemented and complied with during the day-to-day operations of the plant.
* Maintaining safe optimum plant operation and reliability under various plant production modes including plant start up, shutdown and steady plant operations.
* Communicate with the steelworks operations teams and the Linde remote operations centre regarding daily plant operations and potential issues.
* Provide plant and process troubleshooting support which includes the use of maintenance systems.
* You will maintain a hands-on approach and execute the corrective and preventative maintenance tasks.
* Producing production daily reports, closing work jobs, planning maintenance and work permits, and keeping records as required.

* Trade qualified with relevant industry experience.
* You have production experience in continuous process plant operations.
* Previous plant commissioning and maintenance experience.
* Experience with plant and process troubleshooting.
* A strong work ethic who will fit in easily with our small team.
