These roles focus on providing practical assistance, emotional support, and community engagement in a way that promotes a safe, welcoming, and supportive space for all.

What You'll Be Doing
* Community Support : Work with locals, organisations, and stakeholders to ensure people get the help they need.
* Hands-On Assistance : Deliver resources, arrange temporary housing, and assess needs on the ground.
* Guidance & Referrals : Connect people to essential services like mental health, financial aid, and social support.
* Recovery Planning: Help families create personalised plans to rebuild their lives.
* Engagement & Events: Organise initiatives that bring the community together and support recovery.
* Tracking & Reporting : Keep records, share insights, and help improve recovery efforts.
* Collaboration : Work with the team, attend meetings, and contribute to training.
What We Need from You
* Experience/Qualifications: A qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Emergency Management, or a related field (or relevant experience).
* Disaster Recovery Experience: A deep understanding of the impact of natural disasters on individuals and communities, and experience with trauma recovery.
* Strong Communication & Collaboration: Ability to connect with diverse communities, build relationships, and work effectively with volunteers, service providers, and other stakeholders.
* Flexibility: The ability to work independently in the field, think on your feet, and adapt to changing situations.
* Managing Priorities Effectively: The ability to juggle competing priorities while staying organised and focused on what matters most.
* Tech-Savvy: Competence with Microsoft Office and online record-keeping systems.
* Clearances: A valid Positive Notice Blue Card and Yellow Card (No Card, No Start), a National Police Certificate, and a current QLD Driver’s License.
