About your role
Reporting to the Senior Corporate Accountant, this role provides the opportunity to work across the corporate finance function. Broaden your skills in treasury accounting and accounts receivable management within a complex business environment. Key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with site health, environmental and community policies, systems and procedures
* Providing day-to-day financial support, ensuring key monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines are achieved
* Supporting the Corporate Accounting Team with financial reporting requirements including monthly, half-yearly, full-yearly, statutory reporting, and assistance with the annual audit
* Overseeing and maintaining statutory requirements, accounting standards and Company policies and procedures
* Driving continuous improvement of QAL internal controls and processes to streamline and deliver value to stakeholders
What you will bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you should have:
* A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
* A strong work ethic as a trusted professional, and a willingness to learn
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or similar)
* CPA or CA (or working towards)
* Strong knowledge of business, finance, and accounting fundamentals
* Advanced Excel skills and high level of competence with other Microsoft Office programs
* Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders
* Demonstrated familiarity with Australian Accounting Standards and ability to interpret accounting and reporting requirements
* Experience and knowledge of SAP accounting systems is preferred
