We are looking for a Freelance Designer to be the brand and design custodian in our Beauty Loop team at MECCA Brands. This opportunity is 4 days per week for a period of 3 to 6 months. We are keen to find an individual who brings a positive energy and motivated mindset to the task at hand, who thrives off a good challenge.
The Role You Could Play
As a key player in the Loyalty team, you will be upholding the brand’s style guides and finding creative ways to continually engage MECCA Beauty Loop’s loyal community. Your responsibilities will include concepting and executing all creative assets for Beauty Loop campaigns across channels. This includes deliverables such as packaging, event collateral, in-store signage, maintaining the website landing pages, eDMs, social, out-of-home advertising, video assets, paid ads and more. Your role will also extend to supporting the team on ad-hoc design requirements such as presentations or other marketing requests.
You will also:
1. Be the brand design custodian and ensure consistency of brand guidelines and messaging across all channels
2. Have a passion for creating designs that build on our brand identity
3. Create accurate finished art, with a high level of attention to detail
4. Create designs for web with a digital-first mindset
5. Create engaging motion content through animations and text overlays for paid ads & digital screens in-store
What You Will Bring
In this role, you will excel under tight deadlines, juggle multiple projects, collaborate effectively within a team, and demonstrate outstanding communication skills. You will oversee projects from initial concept to print or web-ready finished art. Attention to detail, a flair for luxury in both online and in-store retail environments, and the ability to balance commercial pragmatism with creative ambition are crucial for success. You will be actively involved in the continuous development and enhancement of the Beauty Loop brand. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in Australia's favourite loyalty program.
6. Able to ideate, create and concept with creative flair
7. Experience in designing for a 360 brand (across all channels)
8. A solid understanding of typography principles and best practice
9. Good understanding of branding and working with brand style guides
10. Strong finished art experience, with a good understanding of print pre-press
11. An understanding of technical possibilities and limitations which will direct and have implications to your designs
12. A good understanding of how static designs translate into code
13. Highly organised, and able to thrive in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
14. Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage timelines
15. Embraces challenges and new methods of thinking
16. Proactive approach to problem identification and resolution
17. Passionate about creating engaging, best-in-class digital content
18. Knowledge of digital, beauty and fashion trends a plus
19. The ability to present your designs and ideas to senior stakeholders and be responsible and adept at gathering, processing and actioning feedback with both client and developers
Qualifications and Experience
20. A tertiary qualification in Visual Communications Design, Multimedia or similar
21. Strong, demonstrable technical skills in Adobe Creative Suite, and other creative tools to image-make and communicate
22. Experience in packaging design, finished artwork and print-ready file preparation
23. Experience designing digital campaigns that include but not limited to EDMs, social media posts (paid and organic) is preferred
24. AfterEffects and Figma experience is desirable
25. Solid presentation skills with client stakeholders and excellent written communication skills
26. Agency/Studio experience is desirable
