The Logistics Area Manager Cement is responsible for overseeing the Victorian Cement Logistics Operations for the Boral Cement business.
This varied role has responsibility to manage fleet safely, effectively and efficiently, focusing on employee drivers as well as subcontractors to ensure the safe, in-full and on-time delivery of Cement product to Boral's customers.
This role will involve some travel to Geelong, Dandenong and Deer Park.
Your day will involve:
Provide leadership and support to Depot staff to assist them in safely managing their fleet to an optimum level, while also leading people processes such as succession planning, mentoring and managing HR/IR issues with support from senior leaders.
Supervise a total of 40 company drivers and a contractor network.
Assist and support allocations teams to meet customer DIFOT and Grade of Service objectives.
Ensure safe reliable delivery on internal and external customer sites as well as Chain of Responsibility compliance.
Fleet Management and utilisation.
Compliance with capital and maintenance programs, ensuring maintenance of depot capital assets.
Cost management including reviewing cost and managing contract negotiations.
Financial reporting/management with Regional Manager and Finance.
Customer relationship management with Boral Concrete and external Customers as well as with subcontractors and rail providers.
What are we looking for?
Transport/supply chain/logistics industry and fleet management background.
Tertiary qualifications in supply chain, logistics, inter-modal transport will be beneficial.
Proven track record of people and fleet management.
Skills in cost management, business improvement and project management.
Ideally possess a Certificate IV in OHS with risk management and safety management experience.
Understanding of relevant heavy vehicles and equipment including chain of responsibility.
Proven experience in working collaboratively in an industrially-diverse environment with the ability to build trust and confidence.
