The Opportunity
This is a brand new, exciting video health role that is part of a pilot project and research program with the University of Queensland. This QLD-based clinic will be utilising a Visionflex video health cart, with the view of engaging remote GP’s on a longer term basis to provide at least one session of cover a week.
Standard consultation times are 15 minutes with patients still required to come to the clinic and with the video health cart being set up in a room and the admin and nursing support onsite. The rollout of this system will be done slowly at first, with a nurse champion available in the room for all of the sessions to begin.
Ideally a commitment would be for 12 months but shorter may be considered in the initial period. With kick off due to commence in Feb 2023, the set up required will be 2 monitors so one can access the video health consult and the other can access the Med Director software. The system will be connected with the printer in the consult room and escripts / electronic referral letters will be available.
The team at this clinic works hard to create a supportive and pleasant atmosphere for their doctors, really looking after the admin and business dealing front so the doctor can really focus on the medicine and best clinical outcomes for the community. They hope for the videohealth doctors to become an integral part to the team still and would like for the training to be done in person and for the doctors to come to the clinic in person once every 6 months as well. This will allow true familiarity with the clinic and its patients.
