We’re looking for a proactive and reliable professional to join our team, working on vital projects that keep our communities running smoothly.About the Role:As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing water and sewerage pumps, treatment plants, and associated mechanical equipment. Your responsibilities will include:Maintenance and repair of water and wastewater infrastructure.Performing electrical maintenance as permitted by your restricted electrical work licence.Supervising and mentoring a nominated apprentice daily.Participating in rostered “on-call” duties as required.Assisting in apprentice training and identifying additional training opportunities.Ensuring Council tools and equipment are maintained in good condition.Completing documentation within the Council’s computerised maintenance program.Carrying out duties safely and in accordance with operational requirements.Other responsibilities as directed within your skillset.What You’ll Need:Demonstrated experience with water and wastewater infrastructure maintenance.Knowledge of water and sewerage pumps, treatment plants, and mechanical equipment.Restricted electrical work licence (preferred).Current manual ‘C’ class driver’s licence.Construction industry safety induction card (White Card).Commitment to workplace health and safety.Additional Requirements:Willingness to undergo a pre-employment functional assessment.Flexibility to perform overtime and on-call duties as needed.What We Offer:Opportunity to contribute to critical community infrastructure.Supportive team environment with a focus on safety and professional development.
