This role would be based at the South Brisbane office location.
About the role
The Senior IT Support Engineer is responsible for supporting all information technology systems and users for Quanta Services Australia (QSA). The role involves assisting in the implementation and ongoing support of IT systems at new office locations and specific sites, which may include the use of satellite technology. They are also responsible for ensuring that IT projects are designed, procured, coordinated, and implemented in-line with the requirements of the business.
The role is also tasked with logging and tracking tickets through the ITSM system, ensuring issues are promptly addressed and resolved within the agreed SLAs, maintaining accurate documentation, adhering to IT Policies and Procedures, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations, and following Security Best Practices. The support Officer will provide recommendations for new technologies that could benefit the business.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Incident Management and Resolution:
* Ticket logging and tracking (ITSM) in accordance with agreed SLAs with relevant information captured.
* Investigate and diagnose the root cause of incidents to provide solutions or escalate as needed.
* Implement solutions to resolve incidents with minimal disruption and downtime to the customer/End user.
IT Administration:
* Install, configure and maintain IT systems, software, and hardware ensuring they meet organizational standards.
* Management and coordination of back-up of the servers.
* Maintenance of file structures and user access in line with security rights.
Modern Workplace:
* Enforce device security policies, including encryption, remote wipe, and endpoint monitoring.
* Provide technical support for modern workplace tools and applications.
Device Procurement:
* Work with Procurement officer for purchasing IT related assets.
IT Project Support:
* Communicate with project stakeholders to identify and document IT requirements.
* Coordinate with IT vendors to ensure that required equipment is procured and delivered prior to scheduled deployment.
* Attend project sites as necessary to maintain IT equipment and provide end-user support.
* Pro-actively contact onsite project stakeholders to identify IT issues and improvements.
* Ensure training and documentation completed to BAU service team with project transition.
Compliance and Reporting:
* Satisfy all IT General Controls and SOX Compliance Controls.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Qualifications of Diploma or Degree in Computing Sciences and/or other relevant higher education.
* Training and qualifications in Windows Server (2012 and above).
* Demonstrated knowledge in Microsoft technologies – Exchange/Office365, SCCM/Intune, Microsoft Active Directory & Group Policy.
* Demonstrated knowledge supporting a Microsoft End User Computer environment (Windows 10/11, desktop applications support, printer support).
* Working knowledge of SharePoint & OneDrive.
* Some exposure to Line of Business applications.
* Cisco switching.
* ITIL Foundation Certificate.
* Exposure to Microsoft Azure.
* Basic coding/scripting skills.
* Basic PowerBI skills.
* Working knowledge of networking skills (Routing, Switching, DHCP, DNS etc.).
* Use of IT Service Management tools & ticketing systems (Incident/Request/Problem Management).
Experience:
* 5+ years experience in an IT technical support role or similar.
* Tertiary qualification/Diploma (or nearing completion) in information technology or equivalent discipline or demonstrated relevant experience.
* Previous MSP and MSE experience (desirable).
* Experience in IT Technology design, implementation and support of branch offices and project sites.
* Understanding of ITIL practices desirable.
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

* Demonstrated excellent phone manner and client focus.
