About the role
SCT Logistics is seeking an experienced and strategically minded Transport Manager to lead our South Australian fleet department based in Penfield. Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day function of the fleet division including a team of transport coordinators and truck drivers while looking for opportunities of continuous improvement to increase efficiencies and develop our state-based processes and strategy.

The some of the responsibilities of this role will be:
1. Provide visible and strong safety leadership and partner with WHS to drive a safety culture across the department.
2. Effectively lead the your team across all stages of the employee lifecycle and people management processes as required with a focus on development and learning.
3. Develop and drive the long-term transport strategy and immediate strategic initiatives.
4. Establish efficient procedures and workflows for transport operations with a continuous improvement mindset.
5. Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, Health & Safety policies, Chain of Responsibility, NHVR regulations and company procedures and reporting systems.
6. Optimise financial performance by managing budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
7. Uphold a high quality of quality and service excellence.
8. Foster effective communication and build relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
Desired Skills and Experience
About you
9. Proven experience in a managerial role delivering transportation logistics and heavy haulage environment.
10. Demonstrated understanding of applicable legislation, WHS responsibilities and
11. Proven leadership skills, with a demonstrable track record of effectively managing teams and achieving tangible results.
12. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven capacity to engage stakeholders at all organisational levels.
13. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience - desirable
14. Current and valid car driver’s license mandatory - HC/MC desirable
15. Competent in Microsoft Office suite and highly skilled in relevant industry IT systems.
16. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills, combined with your understanding of the importance of effective communication and relationship-building within the business, will be invaluable assets in this role.
